Famous cubist artists like Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque played a significant role in 20th century. They were part of an art movement that revolutionized the way we create art. Artists in the cubist movement focused on shape and color, experimenting with mediums and techniques.
My students put their own twist on the cubist style, by utilizing at least three different art medias and a collage of different types of papers. At first students did not know what the project was. They glued down a collage of papers to large pieces of paper without knowing what they were going to do next. Dare I say, suspense? Once students found out what the project was, they could only work with the collage of papers that they started with. This ended up being a very fun challenge as student had to be creative in their approaches.
